Max is the founder and principal surveyor of MaxConsult Surveying and an Associate member of RICS. After a degree in architecture at London South Bank University, he cut his teeth in architectural design before moving into energy efficiency and surveying over a decade ago.

His experience includes self-employment, a private surveying practice and several years with a registered social landlord, resolving housing defects across a large portfolio. There he gained hands-on experience of building pathology and of working with a wide range of contractors to get problems fixed. As a result, he has a strong understanding of how defects start and develop, and what it takes to put them right. Max applies that practical, client-focused approach to every property he inspects, so you get a clear picture of what you’re buying. A survey report can be dense and worrying to read, so he is always happy to talk through his findings and answer your questions.

Outside work, Max is a devoted dad of two and a vinyl enthusiast, rarely far from a good record.
